Last Saturday, I watched Meurtres en Pays Catalan (2025) on TV5 Monde. Its subject, manosphere, caught my immediate interest. In America, such men are usually called incels. Both are a fringe and sometimes even violent movement. Please see its Wiki definitions below:
“The manosphere is a varied collection of websites, blogs, and online forums promoting masculinity, misogyny, and opposition to feminism.”
“An incel a portmanteau of “involuntarily celibate“, is a member of an online subculture of mostly male and heterosexual people who define themselves as unable to find a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one.”
The Dutch (mostly liberal-left) media blame influencers, like Andrew Tate, for this manosphere movement (eg, NOS, NJI). Once again, they fail to understand Newton’s laws of motion, like #3: action – reaction.
To some (limited) extent, I understand the manosphere movement. However, I fail to appreciate – let alone respect it. Similarly, I understand the feminism movement, although I do not appreciate nor respect it.
Violence might be the (main) difference between (extreme) masculinity and femininity. I’m not sure however (eg, abortion). Most belief systems argue that death (a.k.a. murder) is for the “greater good”.
The tradwives movement is another – though female – response to the liberal-left promotion of feminism. To some extent, you might argue that men and women both believe in the manosphere movement.
My main argument against the manosphere movement is about its stupidity. The French crime episode mentioned various important statistics underlining male violence against women (eg, in marriages).
When listening to the manosphere arguments then I wonder whether I’m listening to comedy. There is indeed some truth in their arguments. However, it’s a belief rather than a comedy show.

[Chorus]
You can’t take me down
You can’t break me down
You can’t take me down
You can’t take me down
You can’t break me down
You can’t take me down
