Recently, someone asked me if I am single by choice. My simple reply: NO. I referred her to my 2022 blog Single: by choice, circumstances, or both? Somewhat later, I had a weird thought: is it possible there might be a third reason for being single rather than choice or circumstances? And which?
Albeit somewhat reluctantly, I’m inclined to argue with a (provisional) YES.
The reasons for my Yes relate to these concepts:
- Body, Mind & Soul;
- Consciousness: universal rather than individual;
- Love, Knowledge & Power;
- Needs, Wants & Beliefs;
- Trialism, dualism and monism.
Those concepts use a triangle and three dimensions. Hence, trialism.
After preparing my diagram (right), I’m convinced my answer should indeed be a YES.
My (initial) weird thought included a possible third reason: divine intervention, which would match universal consciousness – or panpsychism. Hence, my reluctance in acceptance because accepting divine intervention as a 3rd reason for my failed relationships is (very) difficult – for me.
