There’s a Dutch expression that translates like: the one who isn’t strong, must be smart (eg, Ensie, Wiki). I then wondered if there’s an edge to that coin. Subsequently, I noticed a 2016 Sesame Street song: Smarter, Stronger, Kinder. That song is also a metaphor for my main concept: Love, Knowledge & Power.

Often we think in dualistic terms, like:
- smarter OR stronger,
- heads OR tails,
- light OR black,
- night OR day,
- rich OR poor,
- this OR that.
We tend to forget there’s an edge to any coin.
After adding an edge (eg, kinder) to dualism (eg, smarter or stronger) then we get trialism (eg, smarter, stronger & kinder).
Last but not least, monism is about Power in which everything else is subordinated (ie, Love & Knowledge).
Before she died in 2016, my then-girlfriend Joan made me promise to her, on her deathbed, to be kinder to myself. I still struggle with that promise to myself, but I will never forget my promise to her.
