Sta Hungry Stay Foolish

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

Fantasy + Science = Technology

Actually, I could have used a step in between, which would have altered my title into: Fantasy + fiction = Sci-Fi + Science = Technology. Some examples: drones, lasers, and robots. An example of my blog title is the 1984 film The Terminator, rated at #8.1 on IMDb.

Today, the main item that is still missing is: time travel. The arrow of time appears to be one-dimensional, being forward.

“So far, what we can say with confidence is that travelling into the future is achievable, but travelling into the past is either wildly difficult or absolutely impossible.”

BBC (2023): Is time travel really possible? Here’s what physics says

Nevertheless, a 2024 Medium article, by American theoretical astrophysicist Ethan Siegel, is entitled: How traveling back in time is permitted by Einstein’s physics. A 2025 Popular Mechanics article claims that Scientists Discovered a Way to Reverse Time—and Possibly Erase Mistakes.

Time is a human concept that was – probably – developed by the ancient Sumerian civilization. Latter explains its Base-60 system (eg, 60 minutes, 60 seconds). In the Sumerian view, a Base-60 or sexagesimal system was more advanced than the Arabic decimal or Base-10 system.

Hence, if human fantasy developed time travel, and science allows it, then it might – once – become technology.

In a certain way, the same happened with (1) automobiles (eg, Leonardo da Vinci, jaguar), (2) submarines (eg, Jules Verne, whales), (3) airplanes (eg, Wright Brothers, birds), (4) rockets (eg, Jules Verne), and even (5) tunnels (eg, book, moles).

Actually, I do not believe that backward time travel will once become possible. The danger of human abuse (risk) is far greater than the undoubted potential benefits of backward time travel (reward).

In my view, the balance and symmetry of the Universe could not – and thus would notaccept such potential human abuse. Even the blueprint of Life could be affected.

I can only hope that I will be right.
