A conspiracy against USA ??

Recently, the American president claimed the following on his Truth Social site: “Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America.” (eg, BBC, Bloomberg). Actually, I’ve been wondering about such a conspiracy against USA.

How much time would it take for countries to conspire against USA ??

In my view, such a conspiracy against the US will not happen. Perhaps never (ever). Countries may dream about it but their risk appetite is very, very low. Risk management is complex because the risk-reward balance is extreme due to an extremely high risk and an extremely low reward.

The real problem is reverse psychology. This president is usually lying and/but his truth is usually reverse. He hopes that his words will trigger the intentions of his enemies, and their future deeds. That would allow him to take draconian measures that cannot be disputed in US courts.

This might (also) explain the Russian president’s response: “Let’s hope this was meant in some figurative sense, not a literal one, especially since nobody is hatching any conspiracies.” Russia (also) has a habit of lying, my 2019 blog, but this response lacks any truth issues.

Quite possibly, this conspiracy thinking is the result from China playing hardball against – and “winning” from – USA. His revenge & retaliation would fit an (alleged) malignant narcissist like him. Accepting a loss is not an option. Attack and never defend, appears to be his strategy (eg, US Department of War).

The above results in this diagram:

The American president could still learn from the ancient book The Art of War by Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu (544 BC – 496 BC). Below, please find some of his most important recommendations:

  • “Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.”
  • “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
  • “All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.”

How, How, Howzat?
You messed about I caught you out
Howzat?
Now that I’ve found where you’re at
It’s good-bye
Well Howzat?
