In 1960, British author C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) published his book The Four Loves, being affection (storge), friendship (philia), eros (eros), and charity (agape). Between (brackets) are the Greek names for those types of Love. However, there are – at least – 9 types of Love; see my diagram below.

Some of my more recent blogs relate to my diagram above, being:
- 2020: Love: body, mind and soul
- 2022: “Without love, life has no meaning”
- 2022: If love is the answer, what was the question?
- 2023: Is romantic love instinctive or learned?
- 2023: Everything we do is either an expression of love or a request for love.
In my view, the English word Love is a container term, which has its advantages (ie, all-inclusive), and its disadvantages (eg, many definitions). The ancient Greek words for Love are for each type of Love and (thus) rather easy to define.
Perhaps, the sex robots in our science-fiction books and TV series (eg, Murderbot, Westworld) are an example of our fantasy & imagination. Hence: fantasy + intuition + beliefs ===> fact.
Also see these related blogs:
- 2019: First reality creates and then follows fantasy;

- 2023: Technology: a human tool but for how long?
- In other words: fantasy + science = technology (eg, drones, lasers, robots).
Two relevant quotes on the types of Love:
- “There are all kinds of love in this world, but never the same love twice.” A quote by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) from his short story The Sensible Thing (1924);
- “You can feel a different kind of love for many people at the same time… Some you take care of, some you adore, some are friends and some you want to be with…. Some take over your heart and some take over your mind… but all along love is not the same for everyone in your life.” A quote by Neena Gupta (b.1959), an “Indian actress and television director”.
Love is all around (1967) by Wet Wet Wet (1994) from Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)
