On 12 June 2023, I published my blog Artificial Intelligence, a SWOT analysis. I still like its perspective but it lacks focus. Today, I publish my update on the key ingredients in my SWOT analysis, being Technology (Strength), Energy (Weakness), Health (Opportunity), and Beliefs (Threat).
In my view, the SWOT mix above is balanced. Probably, that explains why artificial intelligence (AI) is here to stay. Considering business, and/or economics & finance, artificial intelligence may result in a bubble and a bust, but (certainly) not from a technology angle.
Moreover, its military use (eg, drones, robots) is changing modern warfare – even while writing this article.
It could be argued that AI‘s ginormous energy consumption will become an obstacle. I doubt that. Probably, market pricing will then be used to lower demand and to increase supply (eg, by punishing energy’s peak hours and by rewarding its non-peak hours).
It’s more likely that AI consumer demand will decrease due to its continued errors, lies and/or cheating (eg, its chatbots).
In my view, the primary use of artificial intelligent robotics is in business-to-business (eg, health, military, science, technology) rather than business-to-consumer (eg, ChatGPT).
