Following the dismantling of the American federal Ministry of Education, and the transfer of its tasks to the 50 U.S. States, my blog title suddenly becomes relevant. Do California, Florida, and New York actually need (a) Trump??
“Following the American Revolutionary War, the Articles of Confederation were adopted in 1781 to establish the federal government. These were succeeded by the Constitution of the United States in 1789, which is the current governing document of the United States.”
Source: Wikipedia: History of the United States government
In 2015, “a right-wing political activist, [whose] efforts [were] supported by the Russian government” founded Yes California, “a Californian political action committee that promotes the Independence of the state of California from the United States.” (eg, website, Wikipedia)
I suppose independence (eg, economics & finance, politics) gets a new political meaning/purpose following Trump-2025. The seaside location of California, Florida, and New York would (seriously) hamper the U.S. military.
Nationalism promotes (political) identity. Interestingly, identity and power are often opposites. Globalism promotes cooperation and (eg, economic) power. Hence, California, Florida, and New York are against nationalism.
A conflict between American nationalism and globalism must already be brewing – for several years, if not decades. Calls for state independence (eg, CalExit) might become its solution.
A joint independence of California (blue), Florida (red), and New York (blue) would – probably – end Trump’s 2nd presidency, and jumpstart the prospects of Gavin Newsom and/or Ron DeSantis. Actually, only (a) Trump needs Trump.
