Following the stunning loss of Kamala Harris against Donald Trump on 5 November 2024, I wrote my blog: Did ignorance beat arrogance? My answer was an implicit No. The same No applies to my question above.
In my view, both arrogance and ignorance can only be defeated by themselves. Hence, a self-inflicted loss by Harris, and a future self-inflicted loss by Trump, like a high inflation due to his import tariffs, or a military war.
Most likely, the (many) forthcoming Trump blunders will be quickly forgiven and forgotten. The same happened during 2017-2021. Blunders fit with his erratic and ignorant attitude, behaviour & personality.
However, blunders will never be forgotten with respect to arrogant liberal-left politicians. The former Dutch PM used a smart defense: “I have no active memory on [topic]”. Dutch people still use his popular though lame excuse.
I’m not sure how long it will take for Trump’s self-inflicted loss. Trump’s age (b.1946) might be more relevant than his blunders. The 2024 presidential debate performance by Joe Biden (b.1942) triggered his self-inflicted loss.
Probably, Trump will be shielded from the press, like Biden, if Trump would allow that, which would be uncommon for him. Although his family members are getting political roles, it’s (very) unlikely, they would succeed him.
Most likely, Trump’s (lack of) succession is the (only??) way for his opponents. Copying some of Trump’s successful ingredients might generate a new mix and a new political message. Their arrogance will remain their enemy.

[Chorus]
I can’t stop, don’t care if I lose
Baby, you are the weapon I choose
These wounds are self-inflicted
I’m going down in flames for you
Baby, you are the weapon I choose
These wounds are self-inflicted
One more thing I’m addicted to
