What is Love?? Ancient Greek philosophy used various words to differentiate between the main conceptual forms of Love, being agápē, érōs, philía, philautía, storgē, and xenía (eg, Wiki). These forms of love relate to our body (ie, érōs), our mind (ie, philía, philautía, storgē, xenía), and our soul (ie, agápē).
My concept of the 7 Belief systems has 3 domains (Love, Knowledge & Power) and has 7 beliefs.
Apart from Love, each of the two other domains includes three beliefs:
- Knowledge: Philosophy, Science, the Truth;
- Power: Money, Politics, Religion.
Until this blog, Love was a domain with just one belief: Love.
Is it possible that the Body, Mind & Soul concept describes Love as a domain??
My new diagram reflects my latest thinking.
Some beautiful quotes on Love:
- “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” Lao Tzu
- “Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.” Robert A. Heinlein
- “You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” Dr. Seuss
- “Love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it.” Nicholas Sparks
- “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.” Elie Wiesel
