In my blog of last Thursday, I suddenly noticed an overlap between two of my concepts: (i) Love, Knowledge & Power (my blogs), and (ii) Needs, Wants & Beliefs (my blogs). Combined, both concepts result in the following: (1) we need Knowledge, (2) we want Power, and (3) we believe in Love. This is trialism at its best.
The other side of this coin is that both concepts are at a meta level. Perhaps, there’s one concept that is more abstract: How-What-When-Where-Who-Why (my blogs). I think, feel and believe, they rank as follows:
– why: Needs, Wants & Beliefs;
– what: Love, Knowledge & Power;
– when: probably since behaviorally modern humans but perhaps much longer;
– where: anywhere;
– who: only humans.
Previously, I have labelled Needs, Wants & Beliefs as collective development stages of societies. Hence, they also represent drivers of personal growth. No society has ever experienced an Awakening (my blogs) as far as we are aware of. An Awakening seems to be a 4th and/but personal development stage.
Possibly, there’s a Great Filter beyond Needs, Wants & Beliefs: societies might be doomed for destruction (eg, climate change, military conflict). Such a destruction may then start a new cycle, beginning with Needs (eg, food, shelter, water). In time, such societies will start to pursue Wants, once they have reinvented stuff (eg, the wheel).
Quite possibly, our current history would slowly disappear from human memory: from history, to legend, to myth (my blogs). Future archeological findings may turn these myths into history again (eg, the puzzling Sumerian King List, Sumerian King List on Wiki, my 2018 blog (part 1 and part 2) comparing the Sumerian King List with the Genesis chapter in the Bible, and findings in archeology).
The above leads to the following illustrating diagram:
Given the diagram above, it’s no wonder that we have a saying: HISTORY REPEATS.

The word is about, there’s something evolving,
whatever may come, the world keeps revolving
They say the next big thing is here,
that the revolution’s near,
but to me it seems quite clear
that it’s all just a little bit of history repeating
