“I think this past weekend is illustrative of what a great case officer Vladimir Putin is. He knows how to handle an asset, and that’s what he’s doing with the President.” [] “You have to remember Putin’s background. He’s a KGB officer. That’s what they do. They recruit assets. And I think some of that experience and instincts of Putin has come into play here in his managing of a pretty important account for him.” These recent stunning words are from James Clapper, the director of national intelligence under 44th President Barack Obama (CNN, CNN video).
This conclusion cannot come as a surprise to James Clapper. If my assumption is correct then the 44th President Barack Obama must have known this too. My May 2017 blog, The 44th President and his very long con, already assumed what is now slowly emerging. This raises the question: why did Obama allow the national humiliation of the USA?
Initially, I assumed that is was about “pest control by using fumigation” (my 14 May 2017 blog). Late October 2017, Robert Mueller’s investigation charged people with the fatal words “engaging in a conspiracy against the US government” (my 31 October 2017 blog). Smoking out the rats suddenly became “high treason”. High treason is about (a) rivalling nation(s).
A 9 November 2017 Patribotics blog accuses both China and Russia of interference in the 2016 US Presidential elections. This is an interesting development which caught little attention, perhaps because its arguments were thin. A 1 December 2017 Patribotics blog adds some specific American names to this development. I’m still skeptic on Chinese involvement.
The duration of Robert Mueller’s investigation suggests another motive: payback. Some days ago, the Russian President finally announced his participation in the 2018 Russian Presidential elections on March 18. Most likely, Mr Mueller’s investigation will run parallel. The Russian President is likely to be humiliated by leaks during the forthcoming months. His reelection is, however, a no-brainer – unless he quits from participating.
The 44th President may have felt that he had no other choice than to let Trump’s Long Con happen (my 9 October 2016 blog). It would be the only way to demonstrate high treason by the 45th President – at the expense of the USA. It was about exposing malicious intentions after the election of the 45th President. Exposing before would have been considered partisan politics.
Obama’s (alleged) choice will have far-reaching consequences for America’s future, if only because of the GOP’s deep involvement in KremlinGate. It may even affect “America’s tolerance for inequality, compared to many rich countries” (Economist-2017).
The above is likely to result in a new American period of McCarthyism (my blog) and a new Cold War (1947- c.1990) between USA and Russia. The Chinese “helping hand”, as suggested by Patribotics, is probably not enough for an American Cold War against China.
