My earlier blogs on (1) the conscious and (2) the unconscious level of consciousness were relatively easy compared to this part 3 on the subconscious level of consciousness. I am clearly in uncharted territory. It’s increasingly hard to find relevant guidance. I have to trust my own judgement and the guidance from my diagram, being the Space / Time dimensions.
My 1st blog characterized thinking as the main activity of being conscious.
My 2nd blog stated that dreaming is the common activity when being unconscious.
By using backtesting / retrodiction, I came to the conclusion that intuition is an example of an activity called extrasensory perception (ESP). This conclusion seems to make sense for this category of “virtual reality”.
The breakdown of ESP in subcategories took some time. The easiest one is human intuition, something that tends to happen “right here, right now“.
Clairvoyance is an example of “any time, any place“. Some famous clairvoyants were Nostradamus (1503-1566) and Edgar Cayce (1877-1945).
The contents of the other 2 boxes became clear after relabelling the Time & Space boxes below. Only then I realised that anything that starts with “pre” relates to “future“: e.g., precognition, premonition. Anything that starts with “tele” relates to “far“: e.g., telepathy, telekinesis. The end result seems to make sense.
You may have heard about claims that we only use 10% of our brain. Wikipedia refers to this as a myth and an urban legend although recognizing “that people only meet a fraction of their full mental potential, which is a plausible claim”. This full mental potential may relate to the sum of (1) conscious, (2) unconscious, (3) subconscious and (4) superconscious.
Some sites claim that the conscious mind accounts for 10%, the subconscious for 50-60%, and the unconscious for 30-40% (eg, source). The superconscious mind might either account for the full 100%, or is an erroneous omission on such sites.
