Yesterday, I have achieved the milestone of 20,000 views. I started this blog on 29 April 2014 to support the rights of divorced fathers – like me. My initial Dutch language blogs were short and assertive – some even a bit aggressive. A few months later – after a time-out – this blog became my platform for obtaining political support for freelancers and divorced fathers in view of the 2017 Dutch general elections. I clearly overestimated this interest despite some small positive feedback.
By late 2014, I decided to transfer this blog to the English language and to widen my scope. My scope has become wide but not fragmented although it took me some time to see its cohesion. In 2015, I have written a lot on Belief systems. Gradually its number went up to 7: Love, Money, Philosophy, Politics, Religion, Science, and the Truth. On 26 August 2015, I published my blog I’m a Believer. This blog outlines the boundaries of my current scope, being the 7 Belief systems.
Late November 2015, I had a further epiphany which has probably completed my concept which I refer to as the 7 Belief systems. Inside the 7 Belief systems, 2 other essential concepts reside, being Knowledge and Power. Knowledge equals Power. Yet, both are also each other’s archenemies. Please refer to my 24 November 2015 blog for further information.
I love Knowledge and am still well aware of the sweet seduction of Power. Nevertheless, I have never ever aspired being #1 as I prefer delivering my added value in the shadows of (someone else’s) fame. I am a Thinker, not a Talking Head. I listen, digest, analyse, weigh, deduct and finally shape my opinions. If they don’t come naturally – as in a “flow” – then I know something is wrong. I may revisit the topic for several days to rewrite it. Alternatively, it may never see the light of day.
I am fascinated by the interconnectedness in Nature and the perfection of our Universe. Once I had the tantalising feeling that I was close to “seeing” interconnectedness on its largest scale. To my regret this superb feeling vaporised too quickly.
To me, this interconnectedness and that perfection are not random events or coincidences. To me, it’s conclusive evidence for the existence of a Supreme Being – whether his/her/its name is Allah, Buddha, God or Yahweh. It’s another reason for the title of my August 26 blog – I’m a Believer.
To some extent, I even admire Muslims as they kept their faith alive while many/most Christians do not. This admiration is usually overshadowed by the hatred and deadly violence expressed by people who claim to be Muslims too. Somehow it just doesn’t make any sense. People forget that Christianity and Islam are the first and second derivative of a more ancient religion – Judaism.
Furthermore, there is no culture in the entire world that does not have some kind of religion. Religion – with all its flaws – is a cornerstone in humanity. Humanity has been created as an image of our Supreme Being. We should never forget that we are not the original. Some of us leave a footprint in human history. Most of us do not. Passing on (my) knowledge to others isn’t a bad legacy. It gives my life meaning and purpose.
20,000 seconds since you’ve left and I’m still counting. And 20,000 reasons to get up, get something done. But I’m still waiting. Is someone kind enough to Pick me up and give me food, assure me that the world is good. But you should be here, you should be here. K’s Choice
